Who said that Instagram is not an art place? Social media is the basis for an initiative that brings a new way for people to interact with art: the Metaverse. In this period of exception in which the access to museums and galleries is restricted, one of the most affected segments of art is that of three-dimensional works (sculptures, installations and environments) that require the presence and action of the viewer’s body in space. With this in mind, Torus developed the TEMPUS FUGIT home gallery project. In this innovative proposal, Augmented Reality filters were created on Instagram so that each person can virtually install, in their home or wherever they are, up to five different three-dimensional works by the artists Túlio Pinto, Ío, Bruno Borne and André Severo.
Augmented Reality allows an interaction between the real world and the digital world through the smartphone. Thus, with the Tempus Fugit filters, it is possible to rotate, position in space and change the scale of the sculptures, or even make a video walking around them, as if facing the real three-dimensional object.
Land Line is an emblematic work by Túlio Pinto, for operating notorious characteristics of his production, which played an axial role in the individual exhibition held at MARGS in 2019-2020: the contrast of materials such as corten steel, glass and stone, and the fragile balance between the pieces, as if they were about to fall apart.

Túlio Pinto’s production is armed through oxymoron, as if forces of very different natures, represented by steel and glass, were in the midst of a conflict, a dispute of forces. Among Túlio Pinto’s pieces – often made with geometric structures put in balance – Cumplicidade #14 is the one that most evokes zoomorphic forms, as if strange beings were in the middle of a metamorphosis.

An armed trap is a device of pure strength, like a lurking predator, camouflaged, waiting. But the trap is also that common artifact in old cartoons, comical in its excessive aggression. Personal Demon is a large trap with glass teeth that, if triggered, self-destructs in its first and only movement, with great potential for damage.
